The Extrusion Operator reports to the Extrusion Supervisor of the Extrusions Department.. Responsible for all aspects of quality/productivity associated with materials processed through assigned machinery.
Responsibilities:
• Line setup, scrap control, quality checks, new hire training, and any other duties set forth by the Shift Supervisor
• Complete all required paperwork.
• Inform supervisor immediately of all maintenance issues prior to request being filled out as well as quality, resin, housekeeping, safety, or production issues.
Requirements:
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal direction and be self motivated.
• Ability to read and understand a measuring tape.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.
• Must be able to pass an eye exam to distinguish color tones
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to speak effectively with co-workers, supervisors or others within the company.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Accurately read a tape measure
Essential Physical Requirements:
• The employee continuously uses their arms, hands and fingers to handle, grasp, hold, grip and squeeze.
• The employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; manual dexterity is required with exposure to arm, wrist and back fatigue. Bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, sitting, carrying, standing in one place, reaching, pushing and pulling for general duties.
• The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Occasional climbing/descending of stairs as well as pushing a broom to clean the production floor are required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

This position requires that the employee be able to work:
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
• An essential part of this position is to work in a teamwork environment.
• The employee is exposed to temperature variances; extreme heat during the summer and cold temperatures during the winter.
