As a standalone business, Vybond is poised to strengthen its leadership in pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, delivering innovative solutions to industrial and specialty markets worldwide. Headquartered in Franklin, KY, with facilities in Riverhead, NY, and Bristol, RI, Vybond Group, Inc. manufactures specialty foil, film, and duct tapes and adhesives. With over 1,500 specialty SKUs spanning 500+ product families, Vybond serves 1,500+ customers across the HVAC, building and construction, industrial, retail, medical, aerospace, automotive, and other specialty industries. 

Purpose:

 

The Demand Planning Manager, working under the direction of the Supply Chain and Customer Care Director, will provide accurate customer demand forecasts to the Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial teams based on demand trends and market insights to maximize production efficiencies and working capital, while meeting customer volume and delivery expectations.  The Demand Planning Manager will be assigned to perform these tasks for Tapes product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain statistical demand forecast in planning software at multiple aggregation levels
  • Manage item level forecast in planning software including supersedures, life cycle planning and promotional opportunities
  • Review sales trends and evaluate historic forecast performance by building Demand performance metrics and internal reporting
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with commercial team to understand demand drivers' impact on customer demand
  • Develop conclusions and make recommendations about forecast opportunities and risks to maximize business performance
  • Interact with customers to gather updated forecasts and ensure planning continuity
  • Provide visibility and communication to demand forecast in the format, level, and detail changes timely
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool
  • Serves as key participant in S&OP, leading discussions about key business drivers impacting the forecast
  • Report and provide weekly updates on shipment to plan pacing
  • Support additional projects necessary to aid in the growth of Tapes/ B&C
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed

Key Results:

  • A demand forecast which incorporates current and accurate market information that allows the company to correctly predict customer demand and provide its supply chain with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that customer demand.
  • Improved relationships among planners, sales, product line management, and finance, which will lead to effective knowledge sharing and an optimal consensus forecast to better guide the company.
  • Refined systems and methods to continually improve forecasts so that the company can better anticipate customer needs.
  • Execute with excellence in the area of customer replenishment and feedback to the Supply Chain group the opportunities and risks regarding customer replenishment performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required
  • Strong analytical, data mining, and MS Excel skills
  • 6-8 years of demand planning experience required
  • 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Ability to travel 10-20%
