Responsibilities

Do you have great communication skills, enjoy working with people, and want a challenge, our Sterling, MA location is currently seeking a talented production supervisor for our 12-hour rotating 8pm-8am shift.  

 

SUMMARY:

Reports to our Production Manager.  Our Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and motivating the production team to exceed goals. Monitors day-to-day production activities to ensure production efficiency goals are being met, safety protocols are being followed, and quality product is being produced. Directly supervises 18-25 hourly employees. Plans and controls production performance as measured against operating KPIs developed according to machine and manpower capabilities along with projected business. Ensures compliance to established customer quality and production standards. Actively leads and participates in plant safety, housekeeping, 5S and lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the department. Ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for adhering to and executing all company regulations, policies, and program according to Berry, local, state, and federal requirement-regulations. Such as Environmental Health & Safety; Quality; and Human Resources
  • Address mechanical, operation, and technical downtime issues within department  
  • Train, motive and mentor employees   
  • Supervisor employees in the day-to-day operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity
  • Maintain and improve production throughput and work with the Production Manager to maintain direct labor costs
  • Ensure company policies, quality procedures, and good manufacturing policies are implemented, understood, and followed
  • Provide support for on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure company policies, quality procedures, and good manufacturing policies (GMPs) are implemented, understood and followed
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree is preferred, or equivalent and applicable work-related experience
  • Experience in Blown Film Industry
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role with a strong background in blown film and Production floor supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiatives
  • Strong problem solving skills, results driven and effective decision maker
  • Experience using computer programs/programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JDE, Teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate accurately and professionally with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work any shift as needed
  • Previous experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other relevant continuous improvement methods and tools a plus
