Berry Global's Consumer Packaging North America Division has an immediate need for two Product Line Managers within the Closures, Bottles, and Specialties market segment. One Product Line Manager will support the Overcaps product line and one Product Line Manager will support the Spirits Bottles product line. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in product management or a related field.

 

The Product Line Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, management, and performance of the assigned product line. This role involves strategic planning, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the product line meets customer needs and achieves business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development and execution of product line strategies to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for quoting new business opportunities, processing custom quote requests and providing guidance on stock business.
  • Gather information from Sales, Product Development, Operations, and market data to assist in the creation of new business proposals to gain profitable new business and retain current business at acceptable margins. 
  • Assist with Profit and Loss (P&L) management, including mix management to optimize net margins.
  • Develop pricing strategies and manage product profitability.
  • Prepare and review sales, market, and profitability reports for the assigned product line / market.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product innovation.
  • Analyze competitive products, websites, opportunities and threats.
  • Identify new and existing market growth opportunities by collaborating with Sales, R&D, Product Development, Commercial Development and Operations.
  • Work with the Design Center for customer specific presentations, mock-ups, and marketing collateral.
  • Maintain accurate product specifications on website, collateral, and internal documents.
  • Provide training and support to sales teams to ensure successful product positioning and sales execution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Able to identify, define, prioritize, and address market opportunities using data and qualitative information.
  • Able to communicate effectively and coordinate information to commercial, technical and operational teams.
  • Ability to drive new product development and implement tactical details of the commercialization of new products.
  • Ability to work effectively with Sales and Operations leaders to drive profitable growth.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of work experience with related Project Line and/or Product Development activities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field. Masters or MBA a plus.
  • Strong Sales, Product Management and/or Financial background preferred, experience with a Consumer Product Goods (CPG) company is a plus.
  • Knowledge of market research, marketing strategy, and new product development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate into meaningful messages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated meeting facilitation skills.
  • Available for travel 15-20%.

  • Use market knowledge to drive segment growth via effective pricing programs and product initiatives.
  • Creating excellent customer-facing materials including presentations and collateral.

  • Successfully integrating market relevant innovation into assigned products.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with other departments while providing assistance as appropriate.
