Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities Lead packers while maintaining the company goals of pounds per man hours. To insure quality product is being packed and to keep a clean clutter free are.

Lead a section of up to 6 employees or more. Carries out lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow and support all Company safety, GMP and HACCP policies
  • Understand JDE computer system to run travelers and schedules.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies and conducting daily section inspections
  • Maintain the pounds per man hours
  • Perform required quality checks and understand quality standards
  • Adjust equipment to maximize production, box erectors, tapers, and labeler.
  • Make minor repairs on equipment and aid in trouble shooting with maintenance technicians.
  • Make timely changeovers to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain good housekeeping
  • Set up tapers and change tape rolls
  • Know pallet stacking formations for all orders
  • Assist in packing as needed.
  • Assume other duties deemed necessary

Qualifications

  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Ability to read and understand work orders
  • Knowledge in navigating different computer programs
  • Ability to operate a fork lift
  • Ability to train new employees
  • Ability to communicate with employees who may not speak English
  • Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, simple checklists, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and in small group situations.  
  • Overtime is readily available in this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
