Overview

Based in Franklin, KY, with additional facilities in Riverhead, NY, and Bristol, RI, the Berry Global Tapes business is a leading manufacturer of pressure-sensitive tapes (specialty, foil, film, and duct) and adhesives. Offering more than 1,500 specialty SKUs across 500+ distinct product families to its diverse base of 1,500+ customers, the Tapes Business provides specialty tapes and adhesives products to top customers serving the HVAC, Building & Construction, Industrial, Retail, Medical, Aerospace, Automotive, and other specialty industries. Berry Global recently announced that Nautic Partners, LLC will acquire the Tapes business in early 2025.

Responsibilities

  1. Execute capital projects including:
    • Generate ideas based on business needs and opportunities
    • Estimate project costs
    • Justify project by benefits to achieve approval of funds
    • Complete engineering designs and planning
    • Specify and purchase equipment. Design and build specialized equipment if required.
    • Manage resources to complete project installation and startup
    • Provide training as needed to maintenance & operations
  2. Identify and lead Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to:
    • Improve safety
    • Reduce cost by improving productivity and reducing waste
    • Improve product quality and resolve reoccurring quality complaints
    • Improve equipment reliability
  3. Assume a leadership role providing technical expertise to handle the most challenging problems
  4. Assist production and maintenance in solving difficult technical problems
  5. Support Quality in the root cause analysis of complaints
  6. Support manufacturing improvements through project management and engineering expertise
  7. Generate ideas and solutions to specific problems and plant improvement opportunities
  8. Investigate new processes, equipment, and methods to provide competitive advantages
  9. Continually develop and improve process knowledge and continuous improvement skills

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical required)
  2. 10+ years Engineering with significant project engineering experience
  3. Strong leadership, people, and communications skills
  4. Strong technical problem solving skills
  5. Strong AutoCAD skills
  6. Experience and understanding of process systems, metrics, Continuous Improvement Projects and SPC
  7. Six Sigma training preferred
