Responsibilities

  • Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules.
  • Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used.
  • Keep supervisor/management informed of all problems.
  • Start up machines and monitor quality at start up.
  • Make appropriate adjustments to machines to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately.
  • Respond to QA Techs by making adjustments to machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards.
  • Oversee proper packaging procedures.
  • Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands.
  • Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems.
  • Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions.
  • Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers.
  • Be able to do the Packer/Handler job to assist with relief breaks.
  • Assist with Material Handling as needed. 
  • Keep the floor stocked with materials required for production (fitments/handles/labels/tape, etc.).
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality and housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • Ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
  • Will at times directly supervise/manages others.
    • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints by taking to supervisor to resolve problems.
    • Cover for the supervisor in his/her absence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior injection molding experience is required.
  • Must be mechanically adept.
  • Self-starter with eagerness to learn and take initiative.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 35 lbs repeatedly.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain production levels.
  • Able to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.
