PURPOSE: Provide project management and technical guidance for Berry Global in areas related to electrical safety, procedure and maintenance standardization, electrical engineering, and overall efficient operations.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES:
2.1 Use caution and support facility electrical infrastructure systems to assure safety event free facilities.
2.2 Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.
2.3 Observe, respond and report any instance of process or product non-conformity.
2.4 Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment.
2.5 Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in 4.0 and associated training.
3.0 AUTHORITIES:
3.1 Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.
3.2 Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
3.3 Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
3.4 Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
4.0 PRIMARY DUTIES: Include tasks assigned by the Electrical Engineering Manager, in addition to:
4.1 Assist with the development and oversight of the corporate electrical safety program including arc flash compliance, electrical system risk, and mitigation plans.
4.2 Maintain, review, and revise “Corporate Facility Required” electrical PM program through JDE. Assist with planning and project management to ensure PM compliance.
4.3 Execute cost savings projects related to energy savings, electrical distribution design, and general efficiency improvements. Work with divisional program leaders to develop plans, share best practices, and leverage savings opportunities.
4.4 Provide project management and engineering support to ensure capital projects are effectively implemented.
4.5 Perform energy consumption analysis and engineering analysis as it pertains to capital projects to help prioritize and gain approval for funding.
4.6 Serve as technical leader related to electrical systems, energy management, and regulatory requirements for electrical systems.
4.7 Review site metrics and cost information to help prioritize and investigate improvement opportunities.
4.8 Establish guidelines related to plant electrical systems to ensure proper maintenance and safety standards are met. Develop and promote corporate best practices.
4.9 Evaluate plants when on site to ensure safe and efficient operations.
4.10 Specify, recommend, and review power systems studies to help our plants troubleshoot, specify, and improve electrical systems. Act as liaison between trusted suppliers and plants.
4.11 Evaluate existing facilities and expansion projects to establish scope of work and initial budgets for electrical system improvements.
5.1 Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years relevant experience.
5.2 Strong written and oral communication skills.
5.3 Proven ability to conceptualize, design, lead and manage improvement projects.
5.4 Knowledgeable in NFPA and IEEE electrical standards.
5.5 Ability to manage multiple projects and meet timelines.
5.6 Familiar with 480V systems and related concepts such as power factor, harmonics, TCCs, arc flash, incident energy, and SCCR
5.7 Experience with Modbus, 4-20mA systems, python, VBA, SQL, and systems integration preferred
5.8 Proficiency in 2D and/or 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD or Solidworks
