Overview

We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to work as Material Handler in our Bowling Green facility! We offer 12-hour shifts and a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.

As a Material Handler you will be responsible for safely and timely moving raw materials, work in process (WIP), finished goods, and scrap materials on a forklift throughout the facility. A Material Handler is key for the facility to meet production and delivery expectations. Material Handler

Responsibilities

  • Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment. 
  • Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 
  • Maintain good housekeeping. 
  • Supply machines with required and correct materials. 
  • Transport finished goods pallets to staging area as directed. 
  • Safely operate shrink wrap machines and document alarms or nonconformities as directed. 
  • Operate resin handling system including bulk rail car unloading system, silo, bin, storage, and conveying system from bins to machines. 
  • Transport nonconforming / rejected product to/from hold areas as required. 
  • Collect and move scrap items to the appropriate scrap area. 
  • Operate grinder, clear jams, clean grinding area, if applicable. 

Qualifications

  • Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. 
  • Capable of maintaining an attendance record within company guidelines and working required overtime. 
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred. 
  • Negative drug screen test results. 
  • Capable of operating a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) in a safe and cautious manner. Must pass the PIT operator test and obtain a valid Berry PIT license.
