Responsibilities

This position is responsible for performing product inspections to determine conformance with specifications and the packaging of these products according to customer requirements.
 
Some of the job duties include:
· Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times and immediately report unsafe working conditions or mechanical safety problems to the Shift Supervisor.
· Understand the product line.  Know the function of the product and any potential product defects that can adversely affect the function or application of the product.
· Perform production verifications at the start of an order and each shift.
· Perform the required visual inspections at the beginning of each shift and at the interval specified in the data acquisition software.  Immediately notify the Manufacturing Coordinator if any defects are found.
· Utilize the data acquisition software to determine which gauging (if necessary) must be performed during the production run to ensure quality standards are met.
· Keep accurate documentation in the data acquisition software during the production run.
· Inspect parts on the conveyor belts and in product containers throughout the shift, and perform liner inspections as required.
· Assist the Material Technician in keeping the WIP hoppers supplied with parts.
· If applicable, periodically check the glue tank level to ensure a proper supply of glue is available to the machine.
· Properly package and handle the production per the assigned manufacturing specification.
· Accurately record scrap and place the scrap in the proper containers.
· Assist in the performance of machine startups and shutdowns and line clearances, and keep machine downtime to a minimum.
· Keep the workstation clean and neat at all times by utilizing good housekeeping practices.
· Assist in the training of fellow associates and perform other duties as assigned.
· Participate in Lean and safety programs.
· Follows applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED preferred
· Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills (written & oral).
· Ability to work under direct supervision and to follow written instructions and techniques.
· Ability to be trained on the use of powered industrial trucks.
· Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to various types of equipment that have vibration.  The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
