POSITION SUMMARY: It is the responsibility of this role to set up and oversee molding machine operation to ensure efficiency and quality, and to occasionally serve as back up in the absence of a Shift Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
- Exemplifies the Berry Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Berry inside and outside of the plant.
- Set up injection molding machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules.
- Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used.
- Keep supervisor/management informed of all problems.
- Startup machines and monitor quality at start up.
- Make appropriate adjustments to machines to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately.
- Respond to Quality Assurance Techs by adjusting machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards.
- Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands.
- Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems.
- Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions.
- Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers.
