Responsibilities
- Record and maintain records of material movements.
- Responsible to remove unused items - record and document scrap.
- Prepare finished product for off-site warehouse.
- Stock Production Department with supplies (tape, PE bags, corrugate, etc.).
- Hand scan product to reconcile production count.
- Housekeeping (sweep area and empty trash cans, etc.).
- Perform daily maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Warehouse support for production and QA departments (colorant, cardboard, bins, bags, skids, gaylords, product on hold and product audits).
- Forklift propane refueling.
- Responsible for the ongoing development of a team environment.
- Comply with ISO procedures, audits, and programs.
- Communicate and cooperate with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the goals of the department and the plant.
- Promote safety by following all plant safety rules and report violations and unsafe practices to appropriate personnel.
- Promote GMP policy, product safety and daily cleaning.
- Any other duties as assigned by leadership on shift or department manager.
Qualifications
- One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold, heat, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime when needed, including the need to help cover vacations of other Product Haulers.
- Must know and follow all GMP and SQF procedures.
- Must be able to work safely and follow Safety Rules and Procedures.
- Must be able to identify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
- Must be able to wear protective clothing such as hair net, steel toe shoes, gloves, short or long sleeved shirt, and hearing protection.
- Must be able to effectively respond in an Emergency Situation such as Fire and Accident.
- Must be able to follow all department procedures and directives.
- Certified through Berry to operate a forklift and power pallet jack.
