The Greenville (GREE) Warehouse/Shipping Department is committed to providing high quality products and service that meet our customer’s expectations. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to stage the production floors and move products to locations within the plant or warehouse as necessary. The Truck Driver is responsible safe operation and driving of Berry Plastics equipment to execute the delivery and pickup of goods as directed by Shipping Supervisor.
- Serve as backup for CDL-A Driver when other driver is out
- Follow all Company policies as outlined in Handbook
- Follow all Berry GMPs, Safety Absolutes and Safe Working Policies
- Follow all safety and food safety policies
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Daily inspection and care of equipment.
- Follow All Departmental SOPs.
- Communication/Interaction/Support of all departments.
- Work Overtime as assigned.
- Locate material into inventory per MEP.
- Cycle Count and Pull material from inventory for work orders.
- Load/Unload/Relocate material as needed per Inventory/Production/Shipping/Quality Control requirements.
- Accurate and legible completion of all required paperwork.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Operate dock equipment, correct, or report any issue identified.
- Comply with receiving of any material (raw materials, packaging materials, office supplies, production supplies, maintenance supplies and others).
- Assist/support all warehouse personnel.
- Verify, identify, and inspect a variety of incoming materials, supplies, and finished goods from operations.
- Responsible for various inventory transactions using barcode scanner and/or computer system.
- Understanding of shipping/loading requirements, weight requirements, customers’ special instructions.
- Warehousing (moving product to maximize usage of warehouse space)
- Trouble shoot any material problems including inventory discrepancies, freight damage, contamination, packaging, or handling issues.
- Responsible for ongoing development of a team member’s environment.
- Have an understanding of the correlation between production and warehouse finished goods, fixing any issues with the pounds and scanning orders.
- Responsible for quality control of pallets, cores, cradles, boxes, other packaging materials received by shipping - no damage product received.
- Comply with all driver requirements in driver manual.
- Maintain all safety aspects and operation of vehicle.
- Conform to all Federal and State regulations.
