Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Under the direction of the Supervisor, oversees the activities of all team employees.
• Performs duties in a safe manner; acts as a role model for Safety.
• Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through
active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication
of safety work expectations.
• Ensures the safety of all team employees by checking their work areas for
safety/housekeeping hazards and addressing issues immediately.
• Reports any infractions to their Supervisor.
• Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to
perceived, imminent safety risk.
• Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving
prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental,
health or safety risks.
• Assists Supervisor in conducting preliminary investigations on safety incidents, root
cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and
thorough manner.
• Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, General
Communication, etc.)
• Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom
they are responsible using selected safety topics as identified and assigned by the
Safety Manager or their immediate Supervisor.
• Reviews and documents daily safety topic discussion at meetings.
• Supports team goals and objectives. Assists Supervisor with dissemination
information and updates to employees.
• Organizes and leads employee driven teams to address safety, quality, or other
operational issues as assigned by Supervisor.
• Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent
performance feedback. Addresses complaints and helps to resolve problems.
• Provides input on employee performance appraisals, readiness for promotion,
participates and recommends appropriate candidate for vacancies; provides or
recommends training as needed.
• Assists with the retention of appropriate documentation.
• Attends meetings and provides information to Supervisor in his/her absence.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple assignments
simultaneously.
• Ability to utilize a variety of computer software (Microsoft products preferred).

Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or
ability required
Education: Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma or
GED is required.
Experience: In addition to the educational requirements, previous manufacturing experience
preferred. Individuals with 2 - 4 year technical degree highly desirable.
