This position will be a rotating 12-hour night schedule from 7PM-7AM.
PURPOSE: To define the responsibilities & qualifications of a Thermoform Tooling Tech.
• Pre-shift exercise/stretching activity to be performed before you can enter production area unless written Doctors release can be provided to Human Resources.
• Understand all safety precautions for proper operation of machines and equipment that are used while performing their job responsibilities.
• To operate formers and trim presses, to open or close molds, and trim tools for repairs.
• To troubleshoot basics problems in the forming or trimming process pertaining to molds and trim tools.
• To install and remove molds. To install and remove trim tools or assist Thermoform Maintenance with installation or removal of trim tools.
• Understand the importance of the Mold Check Process Form and mold cleaning procedure checklist.
• Understand the importance of the Trim Tool Check Process Form.
• To clean, check, repair molds, and trim tools.
• Assist other Thermoform Tooling Employees in their repair of molds or equipment. To water and air test molds before leaving the shop.
• To use tagging system to tag molds, tools, cabinets, & components.
• Notify Tooling Supervisor or Lead of molds and/or trim tools that are damaged or in need of repairs.
• Record on the Mold Maintenance Cards any maintenance that is completed on every mold and trim tool. This will include the date, person doing the work, and what work was completed. The information should be specific and brief.
• Notify Supervisor or Lead person of supplies needed for day to day operation of Thermoform Tooling Lid Shop.
• Keep the Lid Tooling Shop and Component Storage areas clean.
• Carry our any other tasks as assigned by the Tooling Supervisor or Lead.
• To fully understand and utilize the established ISO & SQF procedures.
• Complete inspections as required.
• Positive attitude and the ability to work with others.
• Honest, dependable, and motivated.
• High school diploma/GED Equivalent/Work Equivalent.
• Good math skills.
• Good problem solving & analytical skills.
• Must have good communication skills, written & verbal.
• Must know how to use basic measuring tools such as micrometers & gauges.
• Mechanical ability.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around grease, oils, & solvents without adverse reactions.
• Mush be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, & squat throughout entire shift.
• Must have good manual dexterity.
• Must be able to differentiate color.
