The Production Manager directs, plans, and administers the activities of the Production Department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate Supervisors; assists and represents Plan Manager with Plant Management and direction as needed
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage plant operations; maintain equipment and processes appropriately; staff operations effectively.
• Meet operational goals and objectives; meet product cost targets; meet product quality objectives; meet safety goals and objectives.
• Review schedule with scheduler
• Manages Production Supervisors who oversee the day to day manufacturing operations through labor utilization, cost control measures, and individualized training.
• Prepare and maintains budget goal
• Identify processes and create programs that will reduce costs, reduce scrap and rework and keep overall product costs highly competitive.
• Solicit ideas and feedback from employees by creating a high level of engagement without compromising effective systems or authority.
• Reduce manufacturing, production, quality and on time delivery variables by implementing a high degree of process control.
• Ability to effectively handle employee relation issues.
• Ability to serve as a qualified back up to the Plant Manager
• Responsible for production; all manufacturing areas
• Must follow & comply to Safety & Quality Absolutes.
• Must follow & comply with all quality standards.
• Must follow all regulatory laws & guidelines.
• Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;
• Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and
• Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.
• Any other duties as assigned.
