Primary Function:

Overall responsibility of the maintenance department and capital projects. The position is also the engineering support for solutions to plants and production problems relating to equipment issue/modifications.  Additionally, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for setting up new equipment with the assistance of Corporate Engineering, provides mechanical drawings and ensures satisfactory operation of new equipment, and completion of Management of Change processes and Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews.   Maintenance Manager is responsible for formulating, managing, and implementing plant capital projects for the site. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is part of the Plant’s leadership team.  TPM and lean manufacturing experience is a plus

Essential Functions:                              

• Responsible for various cost-savings programs and projects that have a significant impact on the organization’s current and future competitive position.
• Develop and maintain the maintenance budget
• Lead and participate on project teams for technology development/capacity expansion in the organization
• Responsible for formulating, managing, and implementing plant capital projects for the site.
• Act as liaison (in concert with Plant Manager) to insurance inspectors, insurance company representatives, fire department and other government regulatory agencies.
• Ensure ongoing coaching and training for the maintenance staff.
• Maximize level of employee relations and safety program compliance.

• Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental health or safety risks
• Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)
• Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner. 
• Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible
• Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
• Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.  Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.

Education: 

Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field preferred

Experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Experience:

Must have a minimum of 5 years of related maintenance experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.

Special Skills:

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work overtime as required

Must possess knowledge and comprehension of electrical maintenance, welding and fabrication, machining, hydraulics and pneumatics, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and other directly related maintenance functions.

Basic computer/software knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing and databases.

Advanced knowledge/experience in plastic film extrusion.
