Responsibilities

  • Start-up and troubleshooting of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Maintain steady uninterrupted supply of colorant and material to the machines.
  • Maintain foil supply on hot stamping equipment.
  • Give breaks to other co-workers within dept. as necessary.
  • Adjust and/or repair minor services on axillary equipment and machines. Troubleshoots equipment; determines and recommends appropriate solutions to Maintenance personnel and Shift Supervisor.
  • Must communicate with on-coming and off-going Mold Techs to give and receive specific instructions and quality information.
  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws
  • Work closely with all department staff to alert Shift Supervisor of any quality issues or conditions.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Maintenance personnel concerning machine operations and any malfunctions.
  • Will collect and inspect for accuracy the daily production reports and performs data entry as required.
  • Will know the duties and responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor and perform some responsibilities when required for position coverage.
  • Maintain assigned area free of safety hazard; reports safety issues directly to Shift Supervisor and/or reports in company safety tracking program.
  • Production demands may fluctuate and require a flexible schedule including overtime as needed, every effort will be made to give adequate notice while scheduling employee’s work schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Preferred 2-4-year college or technical degree
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of injection molding machinery and processes preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities for self, and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to utilize a variety of computer software (Microsoft products preferred)
  • Excellent communication, investigation, coaching and mentoring experience
  • Six Sigma training preferred
  • Be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Previous skills in operation of forklift, overhead crane, scissor lift and pallet jack.
