Job Summary:
This position ensures that production runs efficiently, meets safety and quality standards, and supports production operations while maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
- Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
- Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
- Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
- Vacation coverage for Shift Supervisor.
- Along with Shift Supervisor, lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, etc.).
- Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly and in a timely and thorough manner.
- Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
- Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
- Motivates and coaches’ employees through excellent communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
- Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry information and equipment within your direct responsibility.
- Constant vigilance and participation in Safety, Food Safety, and Quality practices.
- Prevent nonconforming products from being shipped to customers.
- Identify and record problems relating to product, process, and quality system.

PRIMARY DUTIES
- Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and Plant policies & rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.
- Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain good housekeeping and 6S principles.
- Check production reports and production paperwork and labels.
- Interface with maintenance and set-up operators as needed.
- Coordinate the movement of raw materials from the staging area to the production lines and back to the staging area when not needed on the floor.
- Train new employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and production manager.
- First Responder training and certification encouraged.
