Responsibilities

The primary role of this position is to provide oversight for the Automation systems.

  • Report to front line leadership.
  • $1.50 additional for night shift differential
  • Eligible for profit sharing
  • Work as a team member to obtain plant & departmental goals.
  • Recommends tooling and/or machine improvements.
  • Responds to alarms and takes corrective action involving quality issues, processing and/or minor machine, mold, and auxiliary equipment repairs.
  • Effectively communicate with the shift personnel in regard to part quality, equipment, special instructions, corrective action and productivity.
  • Communicates with other process technicians, shift supervisors and all technical employees on technical issues.
  • Provide oversight for the Automation systems working with Production and Maintenance personnel.
  • Provide oversight and support for the IBM vision systems, working with Production and Maintenance personnel.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock & fumes, airborne particles & toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Perform routine housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance as assigned/required.

  • Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.

  • Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of
    your work.
  • Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.

Qualifications

  • Capable of physical mobility including hand agility, climbing, balancing, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.
  • Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Computer experience using JD Edwards, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to use rulers, micrometers, calipers & other measuring devices.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35lbs periodically.
  • Capable of complying with all Safety requirements including the use of PPE: PPE includes but is not limited to Bump Cap or Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear,
    Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
  • Capable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working required overtime.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent. Some college preferred plus 2-4 years of hands on experience in the operation/set of automated equipment. Or the equivalent of education &
    experience.
  • Previous experience with automated manufacturing systems & continuous improvement.
  • Ability to problem solve, collect data, & draw valid conclusions.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Negative drug screen results.
  • Work in a safe manner.
