Overview

The Corporate Automation Engineer supports existing asset optimization and modernization, with an emphasis on automated part handling and “end of line” automation.

 

This position is located remotely, supporting plants throughout the US. Travel is required ~50% of the time.

Responsibilities

· Identify, define and execute continuous improvement projects to increase automation up time and efficiency.

· Provide technical support and expertise throughout all phases of continuous improvement projects.

· Work with minimal direction in the development, set-up and integration of automation equipment.

· Optimize performance of automated equipment and robotic work cells.

· Collaborate with suppliers on project requirements and establish equipment specifications. Manage supplier relationships to deliver successful projects.

· Collaborate with site leadership to develop training instructions and standard operating procedures for use in equipment implementation.

· Train plant production and technical departments on the operations and maintenance of automated equipment.

· Participate in all aspects of cost savings, continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

Education:

· Required: High School Diploma or GED and relevant work experience

· Preferred: Associate Degree or higher in Engineering or another technical field.

 

Required qualifications:

· Ability to work independently and with others at all levels of the organization

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong organization and problem solving skills

· Ability to apply knowledge of mechanical and / or electrical systems and automated machines

· 5+ years of relevant work experience

 

Other qualifications preferred:

· Advanced mechanical and electrical equipment troubleshooting

· PLC and HMI software troubleshooting skills

· 2D CAD software

 

Preferred Experience:

· Maintenance, engineering or other leadership roles

· Blown or cast film manufacturing
