Purpose:  To assist and guide experiments, trials, and tesing in the Chippewa Falls Innovation Center.
 

Responsibilities

  • Ability to assist the start-up, operation, and shutdown of extrusion or auxiliary equipment.
  • Operate and interpret output from laboratory physical testing equipment.
  • Begin Training in Material Analyst Lab; DSC, FTIR, TGA, Raman, and Microscope testing or specializing in process development.
  • Check film quality for defects as often as time permits and if needed, correct
  • Ability to conduct some maintenance and clean up on equipment as needed.
  • Ability to train Technicians and ensure they are performing their duties correctly and in a safe manner.
  • Ability to assist on all other equipment.
  • Ensure samples are ran or tested per the Request.
  • Ensure all equipment is operational and perform minor repairs as necessary.
  • Ability to notify supervisor, maintenance, or the vendor if a machine failure occurs.
  • Be proactive in developing ideas and suggestions for improvements and participate in implementation.
  • Create and edit work instructions.
  • Apply trouble-shooting techniques to all processes.
  • Develop process parameters for new products and report findings to project manager.
  • Consult with PD engineers on potential new projects or modifications to proprietary processes and testing equipment.
  • Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and Department of Health requirements.
  • Maintain the department in a clean and orderly manner.

Qualifications

  • High Level of technical expertise in multiple manufacturing areas.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required with good verbal and written communication skills (preferred 2-4 yr. degree )
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Able to direct Pilot Plant techs.
  • Typical 3 + years’ experience or demonstrated competency.
  • Demonstrated competency.
  • Self-motivated with ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Computer skills—Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to travel, as necessary.
  • Ability to communicate with customers or vendors in a professional manner.
