The Changeover Technician is responsible for performing equipment and production line changeovers, ensuring that machinery is set up correctly for different production runs. This role involves disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling production equipment and verifying that it operates according to required specifications. The technician must adhere to strict safety and quality standards to support smooth transitions between production runs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Changeover Execution: Perform equipment changeovers on production lines as per the production schedule, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Machine Setup: Set up and adjust machinery and equipment for different production runs, including adjusting settings, changing parts, and ensuring optimal performance.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment during and after changeovers to ensure it is in good working order for the next production run.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during changeovers, collaborating with maintenance teams as necessary to minimize disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of changeovers, machine settings, and any issues encountered during the process.
- Quality Control: Verify that machinery is operating within the specified parameters and that the first run of a new production batch meets quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures during changeovers to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of changeover processes by suggesting and implementing efficiency-enhancing modifications.
- Toolroom support as required: preparation for upcoming jobs; disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble compression molding tools
- Working within technical group to complete quarterly and annual machine overhauls
- Participate in daily team meetings
