Responsibilities

PURPOSE: The Scheduler is responsible for all day to day planning and scheduling of production, material requirements, and inventory transactions/controls to ensure the facility is meetings Customer order deadlines and expectations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Daily coordination between sales and manufacturing areas to meet shipment goals.
  • Supervising and coordinating the management of raw materials and finished inventory levels throughout the production/warehousing system to achieve customer service and inventory objectives.
  • Managing production schedules, inventory transactions and controls, and material requirement analyses.
  • Developing and maintaining the master production plan for assigned manufacturing plants.
  • Oversight and interface with Production Manager to ensure that operational capacities and production requirements meet sales and inventory requirements.
  • Acting as a liaison between Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Customer Support in planning and resolving issues related to maintaining satisfactory inventories of impacted product lines.
  • Creating, monitoring, and reporting the production and inventory status to senior management.
  • Implementing procedures for handling product shortage situations.
  • Communicating with Customer Service key changes in inventory position.
  • Performing daily and weekly scheduling of the molding, printing, secondary processing operations and/or finished goods.
  • Overseeing the daily inventory selection of product for customer orders.
  • Directing the facility in the priorities and quantities to be manufactured, packaged, and/or shipped.
  • Responsible for the orders into the bar code/network planning system and monitor daily production of all processes.
  • Responsible for analyzing, creating, and maintaining finished inventory max/min levels based on historical sales, forecasted demand, and input from Sales, Production, and Scheduling.
  • Responsible for analyzing and maintaining inventory levels of packaging materials and processing aids.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

In the event the Scheduler is out of the facility, Master Scheduler will assume the responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Associate’s Degree or two years of higher education in operations management or related field.
  • One year of manufacturing experience in a professional level preferably in production scheduling and/or material planning.
  • Good interpersonal and oral communication skills, as well as an ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Good organizational skills, self-directed and self-motivated, ability to analyze and interpret data, along with work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of experience with computer systems and spreadsheet software, such as JD Edwards, Microsoft programs.
  • Equal amounts of time spent sitting, standing and walking.
