Responsibilities

Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the Plastics Division when needed for process development of new product lines and process improvement of existing product lines. They are responsible for sampling molds from the Tooling Division as necessary and by successfully performing mold samples and validations by following scientific injection molding principles and provide customer support for the sample molds. They must also project manage for the sample molds to effectively advocate correct information between all departments and divisions so that the needs of not only our customer are known but the needs for ourselves so that accurate information can be compiled and sent back to the customer.

  • Aggressive, dependable, hardworking, positive attitude and willingness to learn new methods and technologies.
  • Effectively communicate (written and orally) in English.
  • Able to use computer and programs such as M.S. Excel, M.S. Word and M.S. Outlook.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic math skills.
  • Skilled in injection molding process development (follow decoupled molding).
  • Knowledge with injection molding machine troubleshooting.
  • Experience with all types of injection mold designs (cold runner, hot runner, core pull, slides, unscrewing, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable with all types of resins.
  • Experience operating secondary operation, ancillary and automation equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper mold set-ups (water connections, mold safety switches, etc).
  • Knowledgeable in the proper care for all equipment and molds.
  • Accurately use measurement equipment to measure steel and plastic parts.
  • General Safety.
  • Forklift operation and safety.
  • Knowledgeable use of safe crane practices.
  • Injection Molding Start-up/Shutdown Procedures.
  • Cycle Time Monitoring Procedures.
  • Mold/Process Validation Procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and be a self-starter.
  • Ability for light travel.
  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds.

 

Qualifications

High School Diploma (or equivalent).

Minimum – 5 years of experience in Injection Molding industry.

Or Plastic Engineering Degree with hands on experience

Previous injection molding experience.

RJG, Poulsons or any other formal plastic process training.

DOE Knowledge.

Quality Management System Knowledge.
