Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: The Converting Operator’s primary function is to process customer orders with the highest degree of quality utilizing assigned machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

 

***2 Night Open NIGHT SHIFT M-Th 7pm-7am Fri as needed***

 

     RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  2. Must be proficient in performing all the duties of the Slitter Operator Trainee as well as the following:
  3. Must be able to operate and set up all slitting machines including the baloney cutter without supervision.
  4. Know how to check, setup and measure baloney slit rolls..
  5. Make sure the baloney cutter blade is sharp and properly lubricated.
  6. Know how to replace the baloney cutter blade, if required.
  7. Report nicked baloney cutter blades to Supervisor.
  8. Know when and how to change rubber mandrel covers on baloney cutter.
  9. Knowledgeable on how to pack all material off small slitters and baloney cutter, as required
  10. Adhere to all specifications and schedules.
  11. Identify and inform Supervisor of quality problems and document appropriately.
  12. Perform all slitting functions while minimizing rework.
  13. Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by his/her supervisor

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Converting Operator should have the ability to communicate in English and preferably have a high school diploma or GED.
  • The job duration is 40 hours per week. Shifts are during the day, night and evening hours depending on assignment.
  • The general physical requirements are standing and walking on concrete at least 10 hours per day. Some lifting, climbing, pushing and pulling is also required.
  • The job is indoors where smoking is forbidden.
  • Protective equipment such as safety shoes are required 100% of the time, and other protective equipment is required as necessary. All safety equipment is provided.
  • The use of small hand tools may be required on occasion.
  • The job also requires the ability to drive a forklift or rider truck.

Compensation: 20/hr plus 10% night shift differential. Benefits: medical, dental, 401k, vacation and sick time, paid holidays
