Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor, We arre looking for a strong mechanic II or Lead. Primary functions are to install, troubleshoot, repair, erect, dismantle, assemble and maintain all plant equipment, machinery and structures.Takes responsibility for process uptime, process efficiencies, and attainment of specific daily production goals.  Responsible for performing all the routine maintenance and repair activities necessary for the optimum operation of the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. This individual must perform welding, cutting and brazing jobs with minimum supervision.
  2. Repair and fabricate simple replacement parts.
  3. Perform simple repairs on water, air, steam, and gas pipes.
  4. Lock and tag electrical equipment before running any tests.
  5. Take voltmeter and amp probe readings.
  6. Check and replace fuses, switches, and receptacles.
  7. Repair fluorescent fixtures.
  8. Learn flame safety control systems on ovens, incinerator, and boiler.
  9. Calibrate tension rolls.
  10. Check batteries and chargers.
  11. Locate and cut power on main breaker panels.
  12. Drain and change oil in gear boxes and PIV’s on production, slitting and material handling equipment.
  13. Drain oil and change separator on compressors.
  14. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with assignment of work tasks, preventative maintenance, line call coverage and projects to the maintenance team members and monitoring/supporting completion, quality and safety.
  15. Install, repair, and maintain processing and material handling equipments as needed.
  16. Control and source maintenance tools, equipment and critical spares coordinating with vendors and manufacturers as needed.
  17. Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers on the troubleshooting and evaluation of equipment as needed.
  18. Continuously develop and keep maintenance and equipment repair SOPs current
  19. Records any problems related to the process or system; initiates, recommends, provides and/or implements solutions; includes such key initiatives into maintenance planning meetings, outage meetings, and continuous improvement meetings
  20. Provide on-machine expertise to operators and other staff personnel to ensure manufacturing capability and capacity are meeting delivery and performance targets.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Maintenance Mechanic must be able to understand and follow written and oral directions in English.
  • The individual must have a strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance training.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • He/she must be capable of performing heavy manual labor such as climbing, crawling, lifting, and carrying.
  • The individual is required to work a minimum of 5 days a week including Saturdays as scheduled.
  • Assignments may be indoors, or outdoors.
  • Appropriate protective equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes must be worn
  • Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent and three years’ relevant work experience is required. Coursework, certification or BS Degree in Engineering or similar curriculum preferred.
  • Comprehensive electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge is desired.
  • Able to impact and remove bottlenecks to production through analysis and planning as well as create preventative actions.

 

Compensation: $33-$40/hr Shift dfferential for night shift
