Purpose: Assist the plants and improve the printing quality through improved processes. Prepare and conduct training classes and assist in researching new techniques to improve the printing process

Responsibilities

  •      Use caution and support facility systems to assure safety event free facilities.
  •      Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.
  •      Observe, respond and report any instance of process, product or service non-conformity.
  •      Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment.
  •      Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in 4.0 and associated training.

     AUTHORITIES

  •    Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.
  •    Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product, service or quality systems.
  •    Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  •    Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.

     PRIMARY DUTIES include but are not limited to:

  •      Design and manage projects safely for the plant and suppliers.
  •      Adhere to Berry, industry, and/or regulatory procedures.
  •      Develop plans/projects to improve print performance and quality.
  •      Investigate printing CIOs and provide long term solutions.
  •      Identify underperforming assets.
  •      Assist in repairs and upgrades as needed on printing equipment.
  •      Find and share Best Practices between plants and industry.
  •      Work with suppliers to find solutions to problems and develop new capabilities.
  •      Provide onsite method and technical training from PMOT to L1 Print Technicians Administer written and “hands on” testing.
  •      Source and test printing consumables.
  •      Provide technical support when and where needed.
  •      Follow training instructions and standard operating procedures.
  •      Drive Best Practices and develop jigs and fixtures to improve equipment efficiencies.
  •      Report deviations of time, cost, and deliverable project components to senior management as project progresses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related work experience
  • Strong time management and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong project management/organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Min. of 5 years’ experience with Dry Offset printing methods.
  • Score a minimum of 70% on the Bennett Reasoning test
  • Must have a detailed operational knowledge of Van Dam, Kase, and Polytype printers
  • Basic understanding of color separation methods
  • Proficient with web based color management (Chroma QA)
  • Effectively work independently
  • Computer Literate
  • Ability to travel 50-80% of time (Some international travel may be required)

   PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Well versed in all areas of the printing process
  • Strong understanding of SQF and 6S systems
  • Strong technical and personal skills with proven ability to effectively teach students
