Responsibilities

The maintenance manager is responsible for the supervision and leadership of the site maintenance team to achieve plant performance goals through effective problem resolution, labor utilization, repairs, and continuous maintenance improvements. Develop and manage a robust predictive and preventive maintenance plan. This position is expected to have a significant positive impact on Run-Time Efficiency (RTE) and total plant Uptime.

  • Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
  • Ensure compliance to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance and process excellence
  • Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction.
  • Ensure coordination of planned down time with schedule to optimize machine capabilities and uptime.
  • Maintain ISO-compliant maintenance records.
  • Assist with site regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for budget development and spending control for department.
  • Responsible for stockroom (spare parts) inventory management and cost control.
  • Trains backup and others as designated in all tasks.
  • Having a clear understanding and ensuring team understands and complies with LO/TO policy.
  • Identifies, creates, and submits capitol project plans and follows up on completion.
  • Partnering with Process Engineering to ensure product lines & dies are capable of producing a quality product safely and efficiently.
  • Maintains electrical and mechanical equipment involved in the predictive maintenance plan.
  • Provides training to operations technicians in maintenance activities associated with Total Productive Maintenance practices.
  • Required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response team, with training required in the following: Emergency Response, First Aid/CPR/BBP, Fire Extinguisher
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education:  A high school Diploma required. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related maintenance field is preferred.  Six Sigma Black or Green Belt is preferred.  Professional certification is preferred (CMRT or other relevant certification).  OSHA 30-hour certification is preferred.  Certified or eligible to become certified in CPR, First Aid, or BAP is required.
  • Experience: a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a maintenance technician with a minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Physical/Cognitive Requirements: It requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping, and stretching; manual dexterity; the ability to distinguish letters; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds; and frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds. It is required to occasionally ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs over extremely fast-moving machinery.  Required to safely access fast-moving machinery, which includes rolls with inward nip points. Ability to work outside normal scheduled working hours when needed in a 24/7/365 operation.
