PURPOSE: Responsible for performing HR related duties assisting the HR Manager in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primarily responsible for assisting the HR Manager as needed in most functional areas of HR.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee request and questions.
- Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
- Assists with I-9 preparation as needed.
- Assists with preparation and conduction of new hire orientation.
- Assists with providing training to the employees on various Human Resources related topics.
- Assists with preparation and monitoring of FMLA processes for the plant.
- Assists with employee engagement events and employee recognition programs.
- Assists with unemployment claims.
- Assists with benefit administration to employees.
- Provides administrative support to the HR department in record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry for hourly employees.
- Prepares new employee files
- Processes mail and UPS shipments.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Assists with preparation of attendance documents as needed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
