Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
  • Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
  • Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
  • Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Motivates and coaches’ employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
  • Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry information and equipment within your direct responsibility.
  • Constant vigilance and participation in Safety, Food Safety, and Quality practices.
  • Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
  • Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality system.
  • Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry information and equipment within your direct responsibility.
  • Constant vigilance and participation in Food Safety practices.
  • Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
  • Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality system.
  • Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.
  • Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S.
  • Delegate job assignments to department staff.
  • Manage departmental output to ensure efficient production and a high level of customer service.
  • Analyze current manufacturing support and information systems. Decide and implement results-oriented solutions. 
  • Lead and manage scrap reduction activities.
  • Plan, develop, and implement strategic action plans in conjunction with fiscal budget planning.
  • Implementation of Continuous Improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain an attendance record within company guidelines and negative drug screen test results.
  • Capable of working extended work weeks and weekends.
  • Graduate from an accredited four year academic institution with a minimum of three years in management, including supervision of fifty or more employees.
  • Read, write and speak English.
  • Past experience / proven ability within the specified disciplines.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Possess functional knowledge of production scheduling, bar coding, MRP, JIT, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and purchasing.
  • Experience with thin-wall, high-cavitation injection molding.
  • Capable of traveling on company business.
  • Experience with WebEff.
  • Understanding of 5S principles.
