Purpose Convey raw material supplies to and assist the set-up of machinery to assure efficient manufacturing quality product that meets or exceeds expectations. |
Responsibilities · Pulls color concentrates and place it behind assigned extruder line. · Returns all concentrates, boxes or cradles to racks or designated storage area. · Maintains segregation and combines Gaylords of concentrates as needed. · Load fanfolds into Pack Size Equipment. · Create boxes on Pack Size equipment. · Glue Regular Slotted Containers (RSC’s). · Stages materials for extruders and packaging. · Remove finished product in a safe and timely manner and replacing needed materials for continuous operation such as pallets, packaging, resins, etc. · Help relieves for breaks. · Performs quality checks every 2 hours. · Cuts cores using Traveler/BOM provided and/or as instructed. · Replenishes core racks and skids. · Sorts and eliminates all short cores. · Print and creates labels per Traveler/BOM. · Secure all skids of scrap and remove from production area and organize for reclaim into re-pelletizing process. · Keep scrap area neat, organized with colored, chunks, scrap resin, and natural scrap segregated. · Help core strip change-over scrap off cores when help is needed. · Documents any maintenance and safety concerns. · Perform other related functions and duties as assigned or required. · Secondary Responsibilities include: · Help assists with changeovers. · Help clean around extruders and blenders. · Emptying trash barrels. · Ensures the ink room is in proper order. · Help clean around extruders and blenders. · Perform all duties of Packer/Inspector II as/when needed.

· High school diploma or GED equivalent. · 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with extrusion experience preferred. · Ability to adhere to Berry’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards. · Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. · Ability to read and write to complete required forms and verify quality products are produced. · Ability to work independently. · Ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates for 12 or more hours per day or night. · Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, face shield, gloves, and face mask. | · Ability to handle & resolve problems. · Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, days or nights, for 12 or more hours. · Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for extended periods multiple times per day. · Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. · Must have good vision, eye-hand coordination, and hearing. · Must have manual dexterity involving total wrist action, twisting, pulling, and raising arms at or above shoulder height. · Must be punctual; at line on time. · No fear of heights. · Can read and follow written and verbal instructions & specifications in English. · Ability to read a ruler to 1/8”/tape measure and gauge caliper device. · Basic math skills.
