Responsibilities

REPORTS TO:     Maintenance Manager

 

FLSA:     Hourly Non-Exempt

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for providing technical repair and support to the various machinery found in the production areas and the equipment that is found within the building and systems.

 

POSITION HOURS:

Assigned 8 or 12 hour schedule

Flexibility for occasional overtime and call-in work required.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting the design, programming, assembly, installation, and support of automation projects throughout Berry Plastics Corporation. Ideal candidate will have strong background in automation and mechanical hands-on experience. This person will be the project technical lead and may be responsible for some project management activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •        Assist with building and programming on new and rebuilt equipment.
  • Follow mechanical and electrical prints
  • Trouble shoot mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Responsible for adherence to all company, industry, and regulatory procedures
  • Responsible for participating in post project review
  •         Maintain and enforce all company safety, environment and Department of Health requirements

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Two year degree in automation, manufacturing, or proven hands on control experience.
  • Proven experience in PLC logic and programming and development of HMIs.
  • Knowledge of Set up and communications of AC drives preferred
  • Good Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
