Responsibilities

The Assignment:

Repairing, maintaining, and/or reconditioning machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, winders, extruders, and other manufacturing equipment including general facility using hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring and testing instruments, etc. by performing the following duties:

  • Disassemble machinery and equipment and remove defective parts
  • Locates / troubleshoots malfunction
  • Inspects used part to determine changes in dimensional requirements
  • Adjusts functional parts of device and control instruments
  • Starts device to test performance
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Troubleshoots/Repairs electrical circuitry problems (basic)
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as winders, grinders, extruders, conveyors, and programmable controllers.

Qualifications

What we are looking for (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities) -

  • Working knowledge of extrusion equipment, winders, controllers (heat), air rings, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, rigging, etc.
  • Functional knowledge of electrical repair/maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of single and 3-phase circuits.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC motor drives and PLC controls (helpful).
  • Capable of using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and related measuring instruments.
  • Blueprint reading, schematics, and diagrams
  • Comprehension and use of technical manuals, shop mathematics.
  • Possess a thorough understanding between electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Education - High school or equivalent (Required). Associates in Industrial Systems Tech or related course content preferred.
