Responsibilities

How you’ll perform the role.

Beginning as an Extrusion Operator Trainee, you will learn the basics, understand the production systems we use, learn about film quality and food quality, resins, customer specifications, packaging, starting a bubble and many more critical items on your way to becoming a successful Operator.  Items include:   

  • Reviews production order and gathers proper packaging and other related materials.
  • Examines extruded product for defects, such as wrinkles, die lines, correct gauge, weights and other visual defects and makes equipment adjustments/modification to improve quality.
  • Measures extruded articles for conformance to specifications using gauges; and adjusts speed and weight controls or turns water, air, or valves to obtain product of specified dimensions.
  • Tests physical properties of product with dimension testers and completes visual inspections.
  • Our extrusion equipment produces rolls of plastic film for food and medical packaging.
  • This is a multi-task position job where you will learn and oversee several activities.
  • Advance and progress from packaging to 3L to 7L to 9L operations with pay level adjustment along the way.

Qualifications

What we need from you

  • Understanding of the basics of extrusion including multi-task assignment experience.
  • Basic machine operation skills.
  • Basic math and measurement taking skills.
  • Good computer aptitude and experience.
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts and provide overtime coverage for off shift when needed.  36/48 hour bi-weekly work weeks.
  • Be able to perform basic visual quality inspections on products.
  • Desire an assignment that keeps you busy, is less repetitive, and requires your engagement and team work.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years related machine operator experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

What’s in it for you.

Starting rate $19.80.  Step increases as you progress as an operator ($21.40 > $24.00).   

Swing shift schedule nights.  8P-8A (2 DAYS ON - 2 DAYS OFF + EVERYOTHER WEEKEND)
