SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Filling in for the Supervisor during Vacation or Sick days.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies and conducting daily section inspections.
- Conducts monthly departmental meetings in the absence of the Safety Manager and Shift Supervisor.
- Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping and meeting production and quality standards for the shift.
- To assure that the company’s quality vision policy is adhered to by all personnel within the department.
- Set the example by performing duties safely and address all observed safety hazards.
- Trained to handle emergency situations. (Fire, inclement weather, accidents)
- Communicating between the shift supervisor and the Team Leaders to assure information is getting to the plant floor in a timely manner.
- Maintain high quality standards, notifying Shift Manager of serious deficiencies.
- Monitor all aspects of the production process.
- Work to meet or exceed department and plant goals.
- Work with Q.A. Department for conforming and Non-Conforming products.
- Responsible for monitoring blend on all lines making sure the Team Leaders are keeping with in the specifications on each traveler.
- Maximize equipment efficiencies of MEEF and EFF.
- Monitors yield to help keep costs in line with goals.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Informs Supervisor of weight variances in finished product.
- Work with Team Leaders and Maintenance personnel to write ‘maintenance requests’ and set priorities.
- Monitor the preventive maintenance of all equipment.
- Make minor repairs on equipment and aid in trouble shooting with maintenance technicians.
- Project a positive image of the Company and convey the Company spirit by promoting a Gung Ho attitude.
- Train and mentor Team Leaders, Senior Operators, Machine Operators, Machine Tender Packers.
- Work Overtime is mandatory and may be on short notice as business dictates.
