Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Primarily responsible for assisting the HR Manager as needed in most functional areas of HR.
  • Provides customer service to employees and applicants relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. More complex questions will be referred to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Assists with talent management for hourly associates and temporary associates. Tracks status of all candidates in ATS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process (post jobs, collect and vet resumes, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, manage offers of employment, send welcome emails, coordinate new hire orientation).
  • Initiate background and drug screening for applicants chosen to join the plant as FTEs.
  • Responsible for timecard/payroll processing, answering employee questions, correcting processing errors, and distributing checks.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records and documentation.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and training records to collect and file all required documents appropriately.
  • Provides administrative support to the HR department in record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry for all employees as needed.
  • Assists with planning and execution of employee engagement and special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties and retirement celebrations.
  • Conducts new hire orientation.
  • Provides training to the employees on various Human Resources related topics.
  • Assists with preparation of attendance write ups as needed.
  • Manage employee recognition slides for the intranet and staff breakrooms.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Ensures all trainings are scheduled, communicated and executed to maximize their effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain training programs for employees at all levels, by partnering with production manager and supervisors to deliver necessary related training.
  • Document all compliance training utilizing Berry University.
  • Coordinate training programs and materials to support employee development and organizational enhancement.
  • Assists in coordinating employee improvement teams to emphasize safety, skills enhancement, housekeeping, and waste/cost reduction, etc.…; promotes programs and encourages employee participation.
  • Market training opportunities to employees in an engaging and compelling way that provides all necessary information and entices participation.

  • Assist with various projects and other duties as needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Human Resources, Psychology or Industrial Psychology degree preferred
  • Must have 1-2 years minimum experience in an HR Generalist position progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Team and detail oriented.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • 1-2 years experience in payroll and recruiting. 
  • Excellent people skills.  Must understand the criticality of employee confidentiality and conflict resolution. 
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, HR systems, Access, and Excel.
