Responsibilities

  • Develops, schedules and manages a preventative maintenance program designed to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Is responsible for the daily maintenance operations of the facility.
  • Reports directly to the Production Manager on issues, status and functions within the department.
  • Will need to be “on call” to assist with any maintenance operational needs.
  • Assists in planning a continual work schedule to maintain a safe and healthy condition on company property.
  • This position is engaged in the maintenance, electrical and mechanical operations and assists in their training where needed.
  • Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained. 
  • Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building. 
  • Attends other meetings as required.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Berry’sexpectations, including wearing PPE in designated areas. Visually inspects production area for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards, employee’s safety, and adherence to policies and maintains compliance with OSHA, other governmental agencies and housekeeping rules.

Qualifications

  • Certificate program in industrial maintenance program, or evivalent experience 
  • Electrical certification 
  • Three to five years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical or mechanical field or in a related experience. 
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Previous knowledge of machinery used in polyethylene film manufacturing.
  • Able to work independently as well as in-group settings.
  • Strategic thinker.
