Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the plant's Engineering Manager.  Receives Technical direction from the Plant's Engineering Manager.  Supports the Safety Supervisor, Maintenance and Engineering Groups, as well as all the Process Technicians on shift as required.  Always puts Safety first, mentors all others and leads by example.  Responsible for achieving Safety, Quality and Productivity goals.  Provide support for all integration equipment and services, as well as assisting with development of new technology, or breakthroughs on existing equipment.  Manages/conducts Engineering sample requests as required.  Maintains Engineering Project files on the specific drives, as required.  Participates in developing and conducting Technical Training documentation, as well as approving competency for employees, specifically production and maintenance personnel.

 

Assist Safety Supervisor with Risk Assessments and/or verification of appropriate Safety procedures for activities in the plant.  Completes the Management of Change (MOC)as needed for projects.  Maintains major equipment Master Data Sheets.  Participates in new equipment design reviews, installations, qualifications and start ups as required.  Using engineering principles, serves as a mentor and primary support for specific employees with varying levels of knowledge for the following type of items:  Preventative Maintenance activities related to all major equipment used in the production process. In house rebuilds of components that have been removed from machines through PM's or failures as required. 

 

Acts as Plant CI Leader.  Completes Lean Savings Projects by using appropriate Lean Tools to identify Continuous Improvement opportunities.  Continue to advance personal technical knowledge through training and visiting other Berry and Customer Plants.  Complete special projects as required.  Supports Production and Maintenance departments as needed, including after hours call support and direction to on call Technical employees.   Perform all other duties as required.

Qualifications

Has completed a 4 Year Engineering Degree in an Engineering Field.

Mechnical trouble shooting techniques and knowledge.

Preventative Maintenance experience

Process Control Systems (PLC) experience
