Purpose: Responsible for the development and expansion of assigned accounts in assigned markets to achieve company objectives. You will need a hunter mindset with the ability to drive growth organically via deeper penetration of existing accounts and through the identification, development, and management of new business opportunities.  You will be a key player in expanding our market presence and ensuring that our woven and non-woven materials and our pressure-sensitive adhesives and tapes are effectively tailored to meet the unique needs of prospects and customers. 

 

Reporting to the Sales Director for Private Label Building and Construction, you will bring a high sense of ownership to your accounts, to include the management and oversight of new projects, securing forecasts, aligning critical to success factors and being the voice of the customer within Berry.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and grows effective customer work relationships that are based on openness, honesty, and trust.
  • Meets or exceeds Berry budgeted revenue and profitability for assigned Private Label Building and Construction customers.
  • Meets or exceeds customer expectations for product reliability, service, and responsiveness for assigned accounts.
  • Leverages success across new and existing customers within the Building and Construction market segment selling woven and non-woven materials, pressure-sensitive tapes, and laminated materials for building and construction and specialty market applications.
  • Works with assigned customers to facilitate the day-to-day business including information requests, pricing updates, review of quality complaints/corrective actions, regulatory requests, shipment and delivery timing/improvements, and coordinate getting information to the plants.
  • Interfaces with Product Development to transmit required product attributes and provide support during product development process.
  • Negotiates pricing, volume, and terms with customers that maximize company financial and strategic objectives.
  • Provides information needed for accurate sales and volume forecasts to Berry Finance, Logistics, and Manufacturing to support capacity planning and line scheduling processes.
  • Effectively interfaces with customers to strengthen Berry relationship and supply position.
  • Ensures that perceived and potential customer needs are met or exceeded.
  • Develops monthly and annual sales and volume forecasts.
  • Understands and recommends product pricing based on product value proposition, market pricing and competition.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with ability to close deals.
  • Highly-organized with the ability to co-manage customer projects with Berry Product Development teams, coordinating efforts in between the customer and internal resources.
  • Reacts effectively to market pricing actions and competitive threats.
  • Able to perform cost benefit analyses and make decisions and set priorities on the basis of inputs and outputs.
  • Travel estimate: National: 50-60%
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5-year background selling either PE/PP wovens and non-wovens, laminates, and/or experience selling building envelope materials to include weather-resistive barriers, air-barriers, roofing underlayments, and flashing products.
  • Experience working in systems (i.e., CRM, ERP, Sales Forecasting, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships.
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, presentation skills, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral within the corporation and at multiple customer levels
