SUMMARY: Operates the NGR machine to turn our remill waste into pellets to be recycled back through our process formulations. Ensure product quality and control of production processes. Provides a safe work environment through proper training and communication.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and adheres to all safety policies and procedures and ensures all team members work within the safety guidelines.
• Complete safety orientation and forklift certification training and recertification training.
• Complete behavior-based Safety and Quality audits monthly.
• Have a basic understanding of how the extrusion process works with relations to pellet properties, web handling, raw materials, and finished product.
• Have a basic understanding of the products, customer specifications and visual inspection requirements.
• Have a basic knowledge & understanding about Contamination free final product through NGR machine.
• Have a basic knowledge & understanding about standard Remill scrap to be authorized to use in NGR. This apply to box stock scrap/remill coming from the main extrusion lines.
• Learn how to accurately enter and review key pellet properties and SOC’s in Quality Windows.
• Learn how to monitor & review the data of QW SOC & QW of pellet weight measurement throughout shift of operation.
• Has general knowledge of and operates within the guidelines of FIFO, 5S and/or other Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Have a basic knowledge about NGR extruder, block & die temperature profile & the side effects of out of range temperature & its impact on final quality/process of NGR.
• Help maintain sufficient labeling & packaging supplies during and at the end of shift.
• Assists in the training of new-hires.
• Responsible for ensuring all finished product is within customer specifications.
• Ensures that all test data sheets are verified, that all data falls within specified targets and is positively signed.
• Completes proper documentation in line log and other line paperwork.
• Responsible for ensuring all outgoing product is labeled and packaged according to customer specifications.
• Responsible for proper housekeeping and 5S of the line and adjacent areas.
• Works with maintenance to complete minor and preventative maintenance on the line.
• Maintains communication with Team Supervisors and production management of any problems experienced on the line that could result in an extended period of downtime, a quality reject or personal injury.
• Learn the operation of the NGR machine
• Learn the safe operation of the guillotine equipment
• Learn the operation of the material conveyor belt
• Learn the operation of screen changer process, identifying correct screen pack combo & efficiently change the screens as needed or as per procedure in safe mode manner by using proper PPEs.
• Learn how to divert product to the silo vs boxes in the manner of proper verification
• Learn equipment care
• Learn the procedure to safely change screen packs.
• Learn how to safely perform color changeovers of the NGR while meeting quality standards.
• Must complete all job task checklists within first 90 days of employment working with the team supervisor.

Qualifications

Education: H.S. Diploma or GED
Experience: Manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in a plant environment with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish letters, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, and the use of equipment.
Pre-employment Aptitude Testing: Must be able to pass all sections of the validated pre-employment aptitude test.
