Overview

Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, performs duties related to the training, evaluating, and supporting of all Washington Site employees in their professional development. All responsibilities and duties described below are performed for the Washington site. Travel minimal but as needed.

 

Responsibilities/Principal Duties

  • Administers and scores pre-employment test for all new applicants.
  • Conduct New Hire and Contractor Orientations and Oversee the process
  • Assist with Coordinating and Updating required OSHA training for all site personnel with EHS Representative.
  • Coordinates all training needed for employees as stated in their Training Needs Assessment.
  • Develop and administrate a training database that will maintain employees’ written training files (C-Pro, etc).
  • Develops and administers site-specific training programs.
  • Represents site for internal and external audits of the training systems.
  • Report progress of training programs and training hours.
  • Evaluates and creates career progression for employees.
  • Organize and set-up specific training needs as requested by department managers.
  • Assist Employees with required online training (Percipio).
  • A flexible work schedule will be required at times to meet the training requirements of the shift schedules.

  • Education: S. Degree
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a Manufacturing Environment, 2 years of experience in an office environment, 3-5 years training experience in multiple departments. Green Belt/Black Belt preferred (or desire to obtain).
  • Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity, occasional lifting, and the use of office equipment. The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

 

Equipment:

  • Knowledge of and skills in the use of office machines (computer and copier) and business procedures.
  • Strong computer aptitude and experience with specific skills in the following:
    • Microsoft Word – Creating and modifying work instructions, procedures, and training documents.
    • Data entry and managing the training databases
    • Microsoft Power Point – Frequent preparation of presentations for training and site needs.
    • Microsoft Excel – Managing spreadsheets for reporting site wide employee training hours.
    • Microsoft Visio – Create and modify cause and effect diagrams and flowcharts needed for training programs.

 

Internal and External Contacts:

This position will interface with the plant workforce and management team as well as corporate personnel. Externally, this position will deal with outside vendors.

Physical Demands:

  • May work a 12-hour work day and be contacted when ‘off duty’ as needed.
  • Requires standing, walking, kneeling, bending and reaching.
  • Requires pushing and pulling rolls, carts and hoists.
  • Requires lifting up to 55 pounds.
  • Requires ascending and descending ladders throughout the work day.
  • Comments:Job Requirements:Education and/or Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent (College degree or Technical school degree preferred).Extensive experience working with industrial electronic equipment; motors, drives, controls, starters, lights, power, communication, and PLC’s.Extensive programming experience.Experience working on energized circuits.Good written and oral communications skills.Language Skills:Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
