Responsibilities

  1. Follow and support all Company safety, GMP
  2. Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies
  3. Completes daily safety checklists and attend monthly safety meetings.
  4. Knows and ensures that all safety checks are made before putting equipment inline.
  5. Monitors employee safety, work habits, and PPE use and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  6. Knows the Company’s quality vision policy and helps to achieve it.
  7. Monitors multiple lines while ensuring high standard of output and quality.
  8. Maintains quality standards according to specifications and tolerances.
  9. Directs packers, Machine Operators and Senior Team Leaders to perform quality inspections.
  10. Trained in QAN Root cause/Corrective Action.
  11. Maintains correct and proper paperwork.
  12. Have a working knowledge of JDE/WebEFF
  13. Able to run travelers and schedules out of the JDE system.
  14. Knowledge of scanning product into JDE correctly.
  15. Maintains production requirements including scrap rates, production rates, line speeds, blends, and weight tolerances.
  16. Maintain the pounds per man hour goal by managing team effectively
  17. Able to start machines up and make change overs. (Set gussets, thread equipment and make changes to downstream equipment)
  18. Maximize equipment efficiencies to meet current MEEF, EFF and YIELD goals.
  19. Use knowledge of resins, additives, concentrates, etc. to adjust to changing manufacturing conditions and maximize efficiencies.
  20. Get approval for changes to any resin blend changes over 10% in difference from the traveler.
  21. Responsible for planning, assigning and directing work to maintain production goals of pounds per man hour.
  22. Input downtime and production into the computer for entire shift-Maintain Packing Summary Sheet
  23. Prepare work area for relief shift to ensure a successful start
  24. Adjust equipment to maximize production, box erectors, tapers, and labeler.
  25. Know pallet stacking formations for all orders
  26. Ensuring at all pallets are properly labeled and tagged
  27. Management of bins-keep bin area organized
  28. Maintains housekeeping in areas at all times to 6-S standards.
  29. Helps to train employees in job duties from current position to entry level position.
  30. Assist maintenance with repairs and equipment reliability. Performs routine equipment repairs.
  31. Make minor repairs on equipment and aid in trouble shooting with maintenance technicians.
  32. Writes maintenance requests when equipment repairs are beyond training.
  33. Completes fork lift inspection before using fork lift at the beginning of each shift.
  34. Move packaging materials to the lines as needed or requested.
  35. Insures that boxed resins, fillers, or concentrates are staged at lines.
  36. Inspects all pallets for accuracy in regards to weight and correct stacking configuration
  37. Informs Senior Team Leader of weight variances in finished product.
  38. Weighs scrap boxes at the end of each shift or when full and records net pounds.
  39. Input downtime and production into the computer for entire shift when working in the Pack Area – Maintain Packing Summary Sheet.
  40. Responsible for inspecting trash containers for recyclables before dumping.
  41. Return all materials to proper location when changeovers are completed.
  42. Check fuel level in fork truck before the end of shift.
  43. Participate on teams for quality improvement, cost savings, productivity and safety.
  44. Is a team player and exhibits the Gung Ho attitude.
  45. All other duties as assigned, including perform job duties from current position to entry level positions.

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Experience in a team-work oriented environment a plus.
  3. Working knowledge of extrusion/converting equipment and process desired.
  4. Must pass fork lift and electric pallet jack training.
  5. Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, simple checklists, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and in small group settings.
  6. Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent.
  7. Reasoning skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
