Responsibilities

  1. The ability to work safely using required PPE, as well as ensuring all production equipment is in a safe working manner. Must be able to work safely and follow all JSA instructions, safety rules, and policies.
  2. Ability to work overtime with little or no notice depending on machine unplanned events.
  3. Willing and able to assist in breakdowns and repairs including pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical applications.
  4. Work on projects assigned by the Plant Maintenance Manager.
  5. Follow all inventory control guidelines and inventory management procedures.
  6. Ability to install new equipment as needed.
  7. Willing and capable of assisting with “8 Hour” PM’s and “7 Day Cleanups”
  8. Must be driven and show initiative to start tasks without being told.
  9. Willing and capable of working with Tech 2 on more technical issues to increase knowledge of more advanced troubleshooting.
  10. Willing to continually increase knowledge and skillset to reach a Tech II level within a given time frame.

Qualifications

  1. Knowledge and understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  2. Knowledge of Arc Flash ratings and all PPE associated with Arc Flash hazards.
  3. Knowledge of basic OSHA standards.
  4. Ability to operate a forklift/scissor lift in a safe manner consistent with OSHA standards. Experience in industrial maintenance with a strong skillset in all mechanical applications including pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting.
  5. Capable of fabrication and design including welding, grinding, and cutting with a torch or plasma cutter.
  6. Ability to work with basic three phase 240/480 volts or single phase 220/120 volts electrical applications.
  7. Working knowledge of all plant production equipment including chillers and air compressors.
  8. Ability to troubleshoot and correct complex mechanical issues, as well as basic electrical issues.
  9. Knowledge of power tools and the ability to use them.
  10. Ability to work well in a team environment.
  11. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  12. Effective communication skills a must.
